Nita has painted the landscape of Salt pan’s with Emu’s in the foreground and Emu egg’s in the forground waiting for the male to come and nest on them because it’s the male Emu that takes care of the eggs until the baby Emu is born.

Nita Ferguson was born in the bush near Kulgera. She spent her childhood with her family on Erldunda, Kulgera and Henberry Stations where her father worked as a stockman and her mother a housemaid in the homestead.

Nita is a Director of Tapatjatjaka Art Centre and held the position of Chairperson for 12 years.
