Title: Collecting bush tucker
Josie creates art inspired by bush tucker and bush medicine, reflecting her deep connection to the plants of the land. For thousands of years, First Nations people have harvested and prepared native fruits, vegetables, herbs, and seeds. Bush tucker represents a vital way for Indigenous peoples to maintain their relationship with the land, and their artwork is a significant expression of this connection.

Josie Mulda spent her early years in Alice Springs then came to Titjikala in 1975 and went to school in the Silver Bullet caravan school. She attended Yirara College for her secondary education then returned to Titjikala.
Josie started painting around 1980 after watching older family members and listening their stories. She also creates batik, bush jewellery and occasionally carves punu. Her artwork incorporates both contemporary designs and that of ancient Tjukurpa passed down by family members throughout time.
