In 2024 Tapatjatjaka Art & Craft embarked on a transformative artistic journey through a series of dynamic workshops tailored to both seasoned and emerging artists. These immersive sessions delved into the intricate realms of storytelling, fostering skill development across diverse art forms.
Sessions were designed to develop the creative potential of both established and budding artists. Veteran artists had the opportunity to expand their skill set while serving as inspirational guides for younger, less experienced participants. Their invaluable presence played a pivotal role in shaping and elevating the storytelling capacities of the entire artistic community.
We would like to extend special thanks to our partners in these explorations including Charles Darwin University and Lucy Stewart who arranged a week long on-campus workshop for 5 artists in Alice Springs exploring life drawing and printmaking. Other workshops during the year included exploratory session led by Alice Springs based Art Therapist Ezmerelda Rose which provided inspiration for future product development. Later in the year artist and recent National Art School Graduate Anne Blair-Hickman facilitated painting workshops at the art centre and we ended the year with seasoned Ceramicist Ruth McMillan where artists translated their stories onto Ceramic surfaces.
This project was made possible by the Australian Government Regional Arts Fund, which supports the arts in regional and remote Australia as well as the Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support program.
