This tiny etching tells the story of women (represented by the U shapes) gathering together and sitting around a campfire that is fuelled by 3 giant branches (logs) that have fallen from the trees that surround the site. There are many leaves blowing around and the house is in the distance.

Description

Rebecca grew up at Titjikala with her two sisters and four brothers.
Her Grandfather’s dreaming is Marlu Tjukurpa (Kangaroo Dreaming), and her Father’s Tjukurpa is Walaru Tjukurpa (Eagle Dreaming).

Rebecca attended Titjikala primary and then Yirrara for secondary schooling until year ten.

After leaving school Rebecca started working in Titjikala. She began painting at the art centre in 2007 and has been involved in many of the art centre activities away from Titjikala. Rebecca is a regular contributor to the Alice Springs Beanie Festival and has won several awards.

Her interests are going out bush, painting, hunting with her family, playing softball and listening to music.
